" Honey jar label stating "LOCAL" is critical.
o Ag. Dept. will have available labels with new slogan to replace old slogan of "Pick TN Products", these labels will be available for our use.
o Labels must include: your location and name
" Ag. Dept. has 22 million available in grants, (this is for all TN AG products, not just honey :)
o New forms will be available soon and are accepted July-August.
o Applications must state funds will be used for some type of advancement

New Business:
" Tax exempt status was brought to the floor by Greg at TBA. TBA is checking into all the requirements and additional responsibilities this will place on the TBA Treasurer. TBA will get back to Greg at the next TBA meeting.
" Non-profit and the need for a Business License was also discussed.
o Tax Exempt and Non-Profit are considered necessary for the receiving and distribution of grant monies.
o Grant money has already been approved and is available to Greg and Kevin when they do a hive inspection.
" Announcement was made by Lyn Cook: With the establishment of Tax Exempt and Non-Profit Status, and the receiving and issuing of Grant monies, and all the accounting and paper work this will involve, she would like to be removed from the office of Treasurer at next elections.
" The need for By-Laws and terms governing positions of Officers was then discussed.
o Greg accepted the responsibility of acquiring existing By-Laws from Blount Co. and/or Dave Thompson to be used as a guide as the members of NTNB work to establish its own By-Laws.
o This will be discussed at our January meeting. (January 10)
" Election of Officers will also take place on January 10. Kevin Rickert and Mark Johnson agreed to head the Nominating Committee. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor.
" Annual dues of $5.00 will also be due at this meeting.
" Beginners' Class - "Beekeeping 101" will be headed up by Greg Miles.
o Tentative weekend is February 22-23.
o Greg will be contacting members for additional help.
o If you would be willing to teach or assist in any way, give him a call now. We are entering the Holiday season; let's give Greg our full support and assistance now, so he doesn't have to worry with this over the holidays.
o Linda Shelton offered to help with promotion of class
